Steve Southerland (formally Principal-in-Charge for the Miller|Hull Partnership) provided design and management services for this 12,200 square foot structure which contained a Gymnasium, Art and Music Classrooms, an art gallery, as well as underground parking for 18 vehicles. The project also included the renovation of the adjacent single family house structure for use as a Pre-K classroom and offices for the school. Site elements included an artificial grass play field, rubber surface play court and climbing wall and a Pre-K Play area.

The project was certified LEED Gold Rated by USGBC in the spring of 2008. Sustainable features include photovoltaic panels which supply 10% of the electrical power for the building, a 9,000 gallon rain water cistern collection system used to irrigate the site and flush toilets, sustainable and reclaimed materials and natural ventilation.

Johnson|Southerland have also developed concept plans for a Science Classroom for the school. The space will provide approximately 1,100 square feet of classroom, storage and a restroom. The project will include renovation of their existing science classroom into a Robotics classroom. The project will also include a lift to provide access to the upper floors of the adjacent building.
