Turkey Duck Pond Restoration
Seattle, Washington
ROLE: landscape architecture
SCOPE OF WORK: design through construction administration
STATUS: completed 2001
CONSTRUCTION COSTS: $50,000
CLIENT: I'm A Pal Foundation
The Turkey-Duck pond restoration recreated an historic pond beloved in the memory of elder South Park residents. Designed to mitigate a wetland setback violation by a local business, the restoration improves habitat for fish and other wildlife in the Lost Fork of the Hamm Creek corridor. It also provides critical educational access to nature in this low-income and industrial neighborhood.
