Funded by a Department of Neighborhoods grant, the Friends of Seward Park selected Johnson|Southerland to lead a series of public meetings, consult with City Parks staff and develop a comprehensive trails plan for Seward Park. Historically, naturally and recreationally significant, the 88-acre park poses questions for public discussion such as how to maximize public access while protecting sensitive natural resources and what are appropriate details for trails ranging from primitive to urban promenades. An innovation in the document is the detailing of a “Primitive Trail” standard, new to Seattle Parks. View the completed comprehensive trails plan at: www.seattle.gov/Parks/environment/seward.htm |
